ATLANTA (May 18, 2021) | On Monday, May 10th, Gov. Brian Kemp signed House Bill 445, a bill to change the corporate boundaries of the city of South Fulton, into law.


“I was so honored to see House Bill 445 get signed into law,” said. Senator Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta). “The annexation of Fulton Industrial Boulevard is the start of a new and exciting chapter for the City of South Fulton. Not only is it good for the local economy, but it also jumpstarts a new era in both business and economic development. I was proud to have led this effort in the Senate, and look forward to continuing to represent south Fulton at the Capitol.”

ATLANTA (Aug. 4, 2021) | Sen. Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) has been appointed to serve on the Joint Study Committee on Airport Infrastructure and Improvements.


"Not many people know that Georgia has over 100 public airports, all of which are impacted by decisions we make at the legislature,” said Sen. Halpern. “These airports serve as critical economic drivers for regions all over the state and we have a responsibility to ensure they are operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. I look forward to working with my fellow study committee members to determine the best path forward for Georgia's air infrastructure industry."


The Joint Study Committee on Airport Infrastructure and Improvements was created pursuant to Senate Resolution 84. Sen. Halpern joins Chair Sen. Frank Ginns, Commissioner Russell McMurray Dept. of Transportation, Commissioner Pat Wilson Dept. of Economic Development, President Chris Clark GA Chamber, President Robert Burr Georgia Airports Association, CEO Ken Warnock Swainsboro/Emanuel County Chamber, Airport Manager Hope Macaulso Atlanta Regional Airport Falcon Field, additional members of both the Georgia House and Senate, along with other state officials and industry experts.

ATLANTA (May 14, 2021) | Sen.
