Every child deserves to learn to read — and to love it. I have sponsored and supported policies that give every Georgia child a strong foundation in literacy, recognizing that reading proficiency is one of the most powerful predictors of long-term academic and economic success.

A fair economy should work for the people who participate in it. My work has taken on deceptive online booking practices, protections against doxxing, and the effects of market consolidation on prices and competition. From affordability to transparency, it comes down to making sure Georgians get a fair shake - and have a voice when decisions hit their wallets and everyday lives.

Sometimes government can make it harder than it needs to be for people to earn a living. I've spent years working to modernize occupational licensing: removing outdated requirements, making it easier for qualified professionals moving to Georgia to put their credentials to work, and finding practical ways to open doors to opportunity without sacrificing the protections consumers deserve.

Mental health is health. I have supported efforts to expand access to behavioral and mental health services, reduce stigma, and strengthen the systems that help individuals and families when they need it most.

I authored legislation to strengthen Georgia's civil rights protections and help ensure that all Georgians are protected from discrimination and treated fairly under the law. Every Georgian deserves to be seen, protected, and valued.

Safe communities are the foundation of everything else we are trying to build. I have supported efforts that strengthen public safety, improve community well-being, and address the complex, systemic challenges facing Georgia's justice and public safety systems with both urgency and nuance.

I have championed a comprehensive effort to position Georgia's HBCUs as statewide leaders in workforce development and innovation through authored legislation, strategic partnerships, and the establishment of Georgia's first-ever bipartisan HBCU legislative caucus.

Georgia's creative economy is a powerhouse — and it deserves a champion. I have been at the forefront of efforts to strengthen the music industry's role in driving jobs, tourism, workforce development, and cultural vitality across our state.

Georgia has some of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country — and that is unacceptable. I have advocated for policies that improve maternal health outcomes, address disparities in care, and support healthier pregnancies and families across our state.

The right to vote is sacred — and it is under attack. I have advocated for secure, accessible, and transparent elections while fighting to protect the right of every eligible Georgian to participate in our democracy without barriers or interference.

Georgia cannot grow if people cannot move through it. I have advocated for investments in transportation, connectivity, and community infrastructure that support economic development, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life for residents across the state.

We spend a lot of time treating education as a destination rather than helping people understand what it can unlock. My work has focused on creating clearer pathways between learning and earning. From career and technical education to opportunities for people to build new skills, change careers, or keep growing in the ones they have. At every stage, people need to be able to see where their skills and talent can take them.

As Co-Chair of the General Assembly Working Group on Addiction and Recovery, I have worked to expand recovery resources, strengthen treatment options, and address the ongoing substance use crisis that is affecting communities across Georgia.

Georgia has no shortage of creative talent. The opportunity is to build more of the economy around it. Having spent many years in the arts before elected office, I've seen firsthand what creativity can mean for people and communities. Since taking office, I've focused on growing Georgia's music industry, supporting film and entertainment, and creating opportunities for young Georgians to contribute their own creativity - from statewide student arts projects to work celebrating our state parks and historic sites.
